What We Test & Balance

Free Chlorine

Target: 2–4 ppm

Primary sanitizer. Kills bacteria and prevents algae.

pH

Target: 7.4–7.6

Controls sanitizer effectiveness and swimmer comfort.

Total Alkalinity

Target: 80–120 ppm

Buffers pH to prevent wild swings.

Cyanuric Acid (CYA)

Target: 30–50 ppm

Protects chlorine from UV degradation.

Calcium Hardness

Target: 200–400 ppm

Prevents corrosion (too low) or scaling (too high).

Phosphates

Target: < 300 ppb

Algae food source. We keep them in check.
